Make the most of the warmer weather and experience more freedom in the Abel Tasman National Park. Sit on top kayaks are proving to be very popular in the summer months you can very easily swim with the seals and jump out on to any beach very easily.
The day hire can start at 9am or anytime that suits and just a 15 minute safety breifing gets you on the water. Two hours paddling gets you up as far as watering cove. You could choose to walk 15mins up the hill to enjoy spectacular view over Anchorage and have lunch. The keen walkers can go as far as Cleopatra's Pool which is 1 hour 30 minutes walk away. Returning past Adel Island be sure to check out the fur seals and on fishermen island you may be lucky to see a penguin. You need to return to Marahau by 5:30pm.
The four hour can start anytime before 1:30pm you have enough time to paddle to Adel Island to see the seals and return to Marahau by 5:30pm.
The two hour hire is very popular because it gives you plenty of time to paddle to Split Apple rock and back. it is such a popular choice that we try to schedule it 9am 11am 1pm and 3pm.
One hour hire is great for first time go or with the family, our double kayaks have space for a small child in the middle and when the tide is in Marahau is such a safe area.
Your kayak comes with adjustable seats, dry bags, paddle, a PFD and we also have a few wetsuits and booties if needed. We prefer to use double kayaks and we do have single kayaks for occasions where there are 3 persons. If you are one person traveling on your own we may hire you a kayak for the day providing you are experienced. If you are wanting to learn to kayak then the 1 hour hire is ideal
Bring your hat, some lunch, a drink, a towel, and of course wear clothes you don’t mind getting wet.
